There are 27 designated Heritage Towns in Ireland. These towns are designated "Heritage Towns" because of their unique character and special interest to visitors. The Heritage Towns of Ireland include the following: County Clare, Killaloe and Kilrush; County Cork, Clonakilty, Cobh, Kinsale, and Youghal; County Dublin, Dalkey; County Galway, Athenry; County Kerry, Listowel and Kenmare; County Kildare, Athy and Kildare; County Laois, Abbeyleix; County Limerick, Adare; County Mayo, Westport; County Meath, Kells and Trim; County Offaly, Birr and Tullamore; County Rossmore, Strokestown; County Tipperary, Ballina, Cashel, Cahir, and Tipperary Town; County Waterford, Lismore; County Wexford, Wexford Town and County Wicklow, Baltinglass.
